Terra Nova 24 2026 will be heading to Mollymook!
Terra Nova 24 moves around the South Coast each year
Terra Nova 24 has been designed to move it to a different location along the South Coast each year, but always within 2 and 3 hrs drive of Sydney and Canberra. The location announcement for 2026 will be coming soon!
Terra Nova 24 Heads to Mollymook
Terra Nova 24 is heading to Mollymook — opening a new chapter for one of Australia’s most respected 24-hour adventure races.
Mollymook, located on the NSW South Coast, has been announced as the official host location for the upcoming edition of the Terra Nova 24 Adventure Race. For the first time in the event’s history, Terra Nova 24 will be held in March, bringing an early-autumn feel to the race and a new dynamic to the course.
The event will once again bring together teams from across Australia and the Asia-Pacific region for 24 hours of non-stop navigation, endurance, and teamwork.
A Rotating Location, A New Time of Year
Terra Nova 24 has traditionally been held in early April, with the race location rotating each year to explore a different part of the region. This format is a defining feature of the event — ensuring no two editions are ever the same and that competitors face fresh navigational and terrain challenges each year.
In 2026, the move to March introduces a subtle but meaningful shift. Slightly shorter nights, warmer water, and early-autumn conditions will shape how teams approach pacing, sleep strategy, and navigation — while maintaining the raw, traditional feel Terra Nova is known for.
Why Mollymook?
Mollymook offers a fresh canvas for Terra Nova 24. The area provides access to an exceptional mix of coastline, forest, rolling hinterland, and river systems, allowing the course to move seamlessly between environments.
Easily accessed via the Princes Highway from both Sydney and Canberra, Mollymook balances logistical simplicity with genuine adventure once teams leave town and head into the course.
For competitors and supporters, the town also offers a wide range of accommodation, great food options, and a relaxed South Coast atmosphere — making it an ideal base for a long race weekend.
A New Course, Built for Navigation
Event Director Chris Dixon says Mollymook opens up exciting new possibilities:
“We’re really excited about what Mollymook allows us to do with the course. The mix of terrain gives us huge flexibility, and the move to March lets us design something that feels familiar in format but fresh in character.
As always, navigation will be at the heart of the challenge, and teams won’t see the full course until race day.”
True to Terra Nova tradition, the complete course details will remain strictly under wraps until race day.
Race Format
Terra Nova 24 is a classic 24-hour adventure race, involving the core disciplines of trekking, mountain biking, and kayaking.
Teams of two or four compete in Mixed, Male, and Female categories, navigating a demanding 120 km+ course using only a map and compass.
Running alongside the full course, the Terra Nova Half offers a shorter distance while still giving teams the full 24 hours to complete the race — a popular option for teams stepping up to longer formats or looking for a challenging but more achievable entry point.

Terra Nova 24 2025 will be heading back to Huskisson where it all began!
Huskisson, located in the centre of the Shoalhaven region has been announced as the official start and finish location for the 2025 edition of the Terra Nova 24 Adventure Race.
Over 400 people including competitors, family and friends from around Australia and the Asia Pacific Region will attend the Terra Nova 24 24hr Adventure Race from 5-6 April 2025.
The race is held annually on the first weekend in April in the Shoalhaven region. The location of the course is moved each year to a different area to pose exciting new challenges for competitors.
This year’s location of choice, Huskisson, is just off the Princess Highway and around 2 hours south of Sydney.
In the heart of Jervis Bay, Huskisson is a slice of vibrant (and award-winning) paradise, rich in natural beauty. Surrounded by a marine park teeming with wildlife and unspoilt bushland, go swimming at a white sand beach, freediving with seals or while away an afternoon at a local brewery.
Chris Dixon, Wild & Co event director says,
“We’re very excited to be heading back to Huskisson, it’s where Terra Nova started and we’re excited about the opportunities that the town offers – it gives us good access to the picture perfect Jervis Bay and some of the best trails the region has to offer.
We've got an exciting new course for Terra Nova in 2025 and can't wait to show off trails Terra Nova has never been to before.
Terra Nova 24 involves 24hrs of non-stop endurance racing in the major adventure racing disciplines of trekking, mountain biking and kayaking. Mixed gender, Male and Female teams of two or four must navigate their way through an arduous 120+km course that is only revealed to them the day of the race.
The "Terra Nova Half" runs simultaneously with Terra Nova and covers just over half the distance but teams have the full 24hrs to complete it. The legs will be challenging but with the additional time available to complete the half course, teams have a greater chance to reach the finish line before time is up.
Early Bird entries close 31 December 2024 and the final window for registration closes 3 April 2024. Accommodation can be booked through the Visit NSW website at: www.shoalhaven.com
